Ghostly Reflections

1. How old do you think you'll be when you die?
As old as I will get

2. How will you die?
Um...dead.

3. What will your last words be?
Oh shit!

4. What will your epitaph read?
Am I there yet?

5. Any parts of your body you wouldn't donate?
My knees. Who would want them?

6. What song will be played at your funeral?
Freewill by Rush

7. Cremated, buried or "other"?
Cremated. Ashes scattered from the summit of Harney Peak in the Black Hills.

8. If you could take one thing with you to the "next life", what would it be?
All I need is love

9. If you could take one person with you, whether they like it or not, who would it be?
I would never...

10. Supposing they existed, do you think you'd end up in heaven or hell?
My vision of heaven...with no pain, fear, care or worry, a stopover after purgatory and before the next life...but no angels sitting about on clouds, pearly gates or saints...much too boring.

11. If you could haunt any one place, where would it be?
Black Hills

12. If you could haunt any one person, who would it be?
Hayley

13. What type of ghost would you be?
Beautiful invisible

14. You've been given the chance to send one message back to the land of the living. What does it say?
Practice random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty

The Black Hills.
Been there and they are beautiful - right smack in the middle of baldass prairie...
I quite like them, too.
My favourite story when I was growing up, was one about Crazy Horse as he grew up until the Battle of the Little Bighorn. It always fascinated me.

Great post!

Lovely post, Rache. I especially love the reference to the other Rache's beautiful song.

ha ha! Haunting Miss Hayley! Sounds like a screenplay to me!
Great shots of your anniversary getaway!
You're on the phone with her as I type! I think you still are... I'm in the other room!

Nice Post. Think I'll have to look up those black hills.

Isn't it neat how we learn so much about each other from these tags.

Makes it all extra special. Oh, it was neat to actually meet and say hi to your beautiful Hayley!

Hi all!

Of all the places I've been, the Black Hills have affected me the most. So much beauty and spirituality everywhere, but Harney Peak is the highest point; and it was the nexus of the plains indians' sacred hoop. Black Elk and others had powerful visions there.

I went on a trail ride there when I was about eight. All I really remember was that my horse needed kicked a lot - and once we got to the top we could see for miles and miles and I didn't want to leave.

Crazy Horse truly was a fascinating leader, Dale. His monument is an incredible tribute to the spirit of his people. When asked by a white man "Where are your lands now?", he pointed and said,"My lands are where my dead lie buried". That just gives me shivers...

Thanks Anne-Marie. I think that's my favorite song on the album. So ethereal.

Yep, Stevie. We were still on the phone when I logged on! Too funny. It's so great to talk to her. She's growing up more and more every day.

It sounds like she may need some help/suggestions on organizing her Science papers, though...

Hi Lesley! Great to see you - and thanks. She is beautiful isn't she? The photos on Stevie's blog of the three of you really are priceless! Hayley thought you and Dale were pretty cool too.

Love to all.

Oh,thats all very nice Rache, I agree about the angels and saints bit, who needs self-rightious tossers in the next life, we have plenty here!..
And bring the knees!, you will need them for all the dancing and jumping on the bed at the castle!..

Lovely, Rache.

But what's so bad about your knees? Can't be worse than mine. I won an impromptu knobbly knees competition against a six-stone waif in high school once. Mine are like tennis balls. No green fluff though.

Nos 13 and 14 are my favourites. Oh, and three - I love famous last words. Remember Oscar Wilde's? "Either that wallpaper goes, or I do".

we've been dealing with a few minor school issues, but she is starting to understand high school is a new kettle of fish and she has to take on a bit more responsiblity for her own learning. So far so good! We've had a couple of meetings with teachers (she and Scott are both in catch up mode) and we aren't terribly worried.

Hi Rache, just dropping by again. Hope the autumn leaves are giving you as much pleasure as they are to us here. The year is drawing to a close really quickly isn't it?

Today we have been down to the south of the country where it is still very rural and I was reminded of your previous post. It does us so much good to get away from the city for a day, and the autumn scenery is so lovely.

Take care dear Rache

Oh, my knees....Really, they look okay, Margie, I suppose, but they have very little cartilage left - especially the right one.

I had not heard Oscar Wilde's famous last words, but I looked them up and that must have been some ugly wallpaper! LOL

I suppose once I've shed the flesh and set about my haunting activities, I can jump up and down and swoosh about without pain. That would be the brighter side of death. The castle sounds really fun, too. I'll have to cross over after I cross over, so to speak...

Hi Stevie, Thanks for the update. I'm sure this is a major change for Hayley in many ways. I know she'll do fine. She's always had to hit a wall before she 'gets it' - very frustrating!! Then when she 'gets it' (whatever it is at the time) she's got it for good! Have there been any grade reports yet? Or not til the semester's over?

Hi Vally! Yes, isn't it wonderful to get away? I sure wish we could do it more often, especially this time of the year. The trees have been gorgeous this year. The best color is past now, tho. We still haven't had any really cold weather. It's been down in the 30's (3-ish Celcius) the past couple mornings, but I'm too stubborn to break out the winter coat yet.....soon enough, I expect...
